The Manwaring Building

Located in the heart of downtown New London, the Manwaring Building project is an innovative partnership between the historic redevelopment firm High Tide Capital and Connecticut College, one of the nation’s leading liberal arts colleges. The building includes 21 units that combine the vitality and grandeur of old New London with modern luxury, flair, and convenience.

High Tide Capital’s approach centers on sustainability – restoring historic elements while preparing buildings for the modern day with energy-efficient and environmentally friendly building systems.

Their renovation of the Manwaring Building brings its old soul into today's world while preserving and enhancing what's kept it at the center of downtown for over a century.

Renovations on 16 modern apartments and five multi-level townhouses are underway and the building will be ready to welcome Connecticut College students in August.
